Well, this movie's release didn't seem to gain much hype as comparison to the film "The Fault in our Stars" that is released at nearly the same time. It's trailer seems to set the picture as "Ugh, this sci-fi gag again" and thus, had low expectations and by this time we had lost hopes for Tom Cruise's career. But that wasn't really the case when seeing the actual film as a whole. The film actually was really innovative to use the idea of time warping and intensifying it's crucial moments with great acting. The main idea of the movie is basically about an alien race that has taken over Europe and now plans to take over the world, which is pretty basic for most sci-fi movies nowadays along with time warping elements as well. The thing that made this movie really good was the extreme character development Cruise had to go through and his complicated relationship spent with Emily Blunt, which is pretty relatable. Overall, this movie had great acting, side characters, effects, premise, intensifying and a proof that Tom Cruise still is a movie star and that the Summer of 2014 is surely going to be a good one.
